Claude showed up outside our sanctuary in 2021. He was shy but friendly, and we assumed he belonged to a neighbor. After he had been here for a few weeks we put up signs in the neighborhood, checked shelters and posted on social media in an effort to find his owner, but we had no luck. Since he seemed like he didn’t have anywhere else to go, we started feeding him and eventually took him to our vet to be neutered and to get his annual shots and checkup. Claude is our “watch cat”. He is very territorial and will keep other cats (and probably other species) away. He is the only cat who is allowed to be outside of our perimeter fence.
