Harvey was in poor condition when we rescued him from the shelter. He was emaciated, his eyes were sunken and had a crusty discharge, his coat was unkempt and he appeared to have arthritis in his back legs. His bloodwork indicated he was hyperthyroid and in chronic kidney failure. Despite these issues, Harvey is a happy kitty. He likes people and acknowledges us with a “mmuurrp” whenever we are around. Harvey has a healthy appetite and has gained a noticeable amount of weight since he has been with us. As befits an older cat, he spends most of his time sleeping – either on the kitchen floor or on a dining room chair.
