We rescued Chester from a shelter where he was scheduled to be euthanized the next day. He had been brought in by an animal control officer who found him “sunning himself” in the middle of a road. Chester appeared to be a senior cat. He was unsteady on his feet, his hind legs were not functioning correctly and he acted confused and disoriented. We wanted to give him a chance.
Our vet determined he was blind and possibly hearing impaired with suspected arthritis and muscle wasting. With medication and plenty of food, he is now walking almost normally and slowly finding his way around the house. He is a friendly boy and loves having his chin scratched. We hope to give him many more happy years.
